WE HAVE THE INTERNET!! YEAH!

Long story short, Peter and I haven't had the internet at home for over a month now, and we are so excited to have it back! It is amazing how much we rely on technology these days! Internet is only offered at our complex by two different companies, and we were recommended to try AT&T. I'm sure our experience was anomalous, but we had such a hard time with them! They'd set up an install, then wouldn't come or even call us and tell us they weren't coming (this happened 7 times). They'd randomly change the dates of our install and wouldn't tell us. They created three separate accounts for us, which all messed each other up. Whew! Anyway, we're going to check our phone records, but I'm pretty sure Peter spent at least 20 hours on the phone with them.

As a small simplified example, yesterday we expected them to come between 8 and 10am (since on Thursday we got a automated message that we were scheduled for Tuesday when we were really supposed to be scheduled for Monday, so Peter called and got them to do an "emergency" install on Saturday - confusing, huh? :) ) Anyway, at 10am they hadn't showed up, so Peter called AT&T and found out we had been pushed back to JULY! After another hour on the phone, we got put back on the schedule for that day, this time from 2-4. At 12 we get another call from someone else, who says that one of the bogus accounts created for us is still active, and can't be disabled until Wednesday. This means that we can't be installed for another week. Peter spends another hour on the phone with her trying to get a manager or somebody to help us, to no avail. Finally he tells her to leave the account alone and not to cancel the 2-4 appointment, even though she says they definitely won't come. AND.....at 1:30, the installer shows up. Woot!

Well, now that that's over, I'm going to write a really long post and update the blog on our recent happenings, which have really been exciting with the move and all. The short version is, we love our new home but we miss you all very very much!
